Mario Marcel

Finance Minister

Mario Marcel holds a business management degree from the Universidad de Chile and an M.Phil. in Economics from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. In 2015, he became a member of the Board of Governors at the Banco Central de Chile and in 2016 he was elected president.

He was previously senior director of Governance Global Practice at the World Bank, deputy director of Governance and Territorial Development at the OECD, and manager of Institutional Capacity and Finance at the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB). He has also worked as a consultant for international organizations and governments.
