Jorge Flies

Governor of the Magallanes and the Chilean Antarctic Region.

He is a medical doctor from the Universidad de Chile, specializing in Family Medicine at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and certified by CONACEM. He also holds a Master’s degree in Government Management and Organizational Culture from the Universidad de Navarra, Spain.

From 2000 to 2014, he served as Director of the Magallanes Health Service, and from 2014 to 2018, he was the Regional Intendant of Magallanes. In 2021, he was elected Governor of the Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica Region and was recently re-elected to serve until 2028.
