Ilan Goldfajn

President of the Inter-American Development Bank

He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), a master’s degree in Economics from the Pontifical Catholic University, and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Federal University, both in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He served as Director of the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) Western Hemisphere Department in 2022 and was Governor of the Central Bank of Brazil (BCB) from 2016 to 2019, as well as Director from 2000 to 2003.

Dr. Goldfajn has also held various roles as a consultant for top-tier international organizations, including the World Bank, the United Nations, and the IMF.
