Maria Ignacia Varela

Vice President, Finance, HIF Global

María Ignacia is the Vice President of Finance at HIF Global, where she leads equity raising, debt financing, and M&A processes worldwide. In this role, she has been key in securing approximately $500 million to support project development. Before joining HIF, Maria Ignacia worked at AME, HIF’s founding company, where she was instrumental in raising $1 billion in project financing to develop the largest solar plant in South America and refinance existing debt, and in the sale of a minority stake of AME to a private fund. Prior to her role at AME, she was with Citigroup Chile’s Investment Banking division, gaining extensive experience in M&A, debt structuring, and capital markets transactions across various industries, including energy.
